Part 1: Torres del Paine
Torres del Paine may well be the most famous natural attraction in the Chilean Patagonia. Located to the East of the main axis of the Andes and surrounded by immense interconnected lakes, the granite spires of Paine massif have a unique shape sculpted by glacial erosion. Breathtaking views together with glaciers, rivers, lakes, forests and abundant wildlife provide the journey with constantly changing scenarios and experiences.
During summer (Dec-Mar) there are 18 hours of daylight, which gives the explorers plenty of time to experience the surroundings.
W trek
This route visits the most scenic valleys between Pehoe and Hosteria Las Torres as a 5 day backpacking trek. It is called ¨W¨ because it heads up the three valleys of Lago Grey, Valle Frances and Torres lookout valley. To link them from west to east, the path goes along the north shore of Nordenskjold Lake.
Part 2: Los Glaciares National Park
We will be visiting the mountains and valleys that lay East of the Continental Ice Field, the largest icecap outside the Polar Regions. At the far northern end of Los Glaciares lies one of the most magnificent and famous mountains in the Andes. Here the legendary diorite peaks of Cerro Torre and Mount Fitz Roy (3441m) rise abruptly from the flat Patagonian steppes, attracting climbers from all over the world. Short lateral valleys lead to the base of these peaks, giving trekkers relatively straightforward access to the finest scenery.
